You should have already known about Apple Music, the brand new music streaming service from the iPhone maker. Apple Music will compete with popular equivalents like Spotify. There is a buzz among the people regarding the service. But how to get it?
For single users, Apple Music offers on-demand unlimited access to more than 30 million titles at a monthly $9.99 fee. You can get a family package for up to 6 members costing $14.99 per month.
On iOS Devices
Apple Music is not an app that can be downloaded from the App Store. You need to have (at least) iOS 8.4 on your device. If you are on an older version, upgrade the OS by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Check for the latest update and click Download and Install to upgrade. Remember, iOS 8.4 requires 212 MB free space on your device.
After the upgrade is done, you will find a shiny white Music app on your home screen. Tap to open it and start the three-month free trial. Once you are in, select your favorite genres, artists and customize the music experience.
Apple also brings a free online radio station called ‘Beats 1’ which can be accessed even if you don’t sign-up for a music streaming account. Just log-in with your Apple ID to listen the 24/7 radio.
However, Apple Music is not available on iPod nano and iPod shuffle.
On Mac and PC
Yes, besides Mac, you can also enjoy Apple Music on your Windows computer. To get this, all you need is the latest iTunes software. Download the latest iTunes from here or update your current install.
What about Android and Apple TV?
Well, Android and Apple TV users need to wait until this autumn to get into the streaming service. It will also come to Sonos speakers later the year.
